EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Caden Cleveland
Meet Caden Cleveland! 👋
Caden is the new Community Programs Coordinator with the Community Impact and Engagement department. In his role, he oversees the Apprenticeship Program that his department collaborates on with the Winnebago Public School and Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s Education Department. He also helps with community events.
🔹 How did you fall into this line of work?
I worked around the youth a lot with my previous job, and I interned at the Sioux City Bandits most recently. The Sioux City Bandits are big about being involved in the community, so we would always do events in the Siouxland area. So, when I saw the job position and what it involved, I figured that this was the perfect fit and opportunity for me.
🔹 What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
Being able to give back to my community with fun events that bring us all together and sharing some laughs and stories.
🔹 What has been one of your favorite projects so far, and why?
I helped my coworker Terri Lee out with Ho-Chunk, Inc.’s Summer Internship Program. As a previous intern, it was a fun experience and felt different being on this side of the wall seeing all the behind-the-scenes stuff happening.
Seeing the interns grow from the start of the program to the end of it was a great feeling.
I also liked hearing their stories and what they want to become in life.
🔹 What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to spend time with my companion Destiny Grant and daughter Ca’Raylia Cleveland. We like to go on walks in the city and go on getaway trips. I like to play softball and basketball in my downtime. I also like to watch sports with my father Craig Cleveland, Sr.
🔹 What is something about you that might surprise people?
My first nickname was Tweedie Beetle Bug. Eventually, it went to Beetle as I got older.
