About Us

Founded in 1994 by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Ho-Chunk, Inc. set out on a mission to empower the Winnebago community through job creation and the expansion of the Tribe’s economic landscape. Our efforts have catalyzed the development of a sustainable economy and a thriving middle class within the reservation, significantly improving the standard of living in less than a generation.

As a people, we have always been resilient by working together. This approach has reliably guided us through adversity time and time again. That same approach guides our business partnerships and client success, both today and for generations into the future.

Employee Success Stories

Dulcie Greene

Dulcie joined Ho-Chunk, Inc., (HCI) in 2005 as a File Clerk in the Human Resources Department and has steadily advanced since. During her time at HCI, mentors and co-workers have always encouraged her to expand her skills, which ultimately led to her achievement of an Associate’s Degree at Little Priest Tribal College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources.

Today, Dulcie’s is a Human Resource Site Supervisor, assisting with workplace investigations, identifying resources for employee growth, and supporting her team.

TREVOR WILKIE

Trevor Wilke joined Ho-Chunk, Inc., in 2004 as a groundskeeper and continued to expand his knowledge to electrical, carpentry, maintenance, and machinery repair.

Over the years, HCI incorporated leadership courses into Trevor’s development plan, helping him prepare for more senior roles. Today, he is the Maintenance Manager and leads an 11-person crew.

“I hope I can be a standard for the community: work hard, be present, and help out even if it’s not your job. It’s still your community. Take pride in that!”

Employee Impact

Our employees choose to directly support the Winnebago community by voluntarily contributing to Ho-Chunk Way, an employee donations program that focuses on critical needs in the community.

Since the program began in 2017, over $500,000 has been raised for Winnebago organizations, including employee donations, donations from the public and matching funds from Ho-Chunk, Inc.

Past recipients include the Winnebago Senior Center, Boys & Girls Club, HoChunk Renaissance, Winnebago Youth Shelter, Whirling Thunder Wellness Center, and Winnebago Tribal Farms.
