VIDEO: Ho-Chunk Way, Ho-Chunk, Inc.’s Employee Donations Program
Ho-Chunk Way, Ho-Chunk, Inc.’s employee donations program, was founded in 2017 to build on our mission of providing a better way of life for Winnebago Tribal members. The program supports the Winnebago Tribe’s priorities: youth, education, jobs, housing, and elders.
Each year, we select a Ho-Chunk Way recipient making a lasting impact in the community. Last year, we were proud to support the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s Wildlife & Parks Program in revitalizing Big Bear Park — a space for gathering, connecting with nature, and honoring ancestral traditions.
About Winnebago Wildlife & Parks:
With a strong passion for preserving the quality of the environment and serving the Winnebago community, their main objectives are to protect wildlife habitat and provide outdoor recreational areas.
About the Big Bear Park Project. The revitalized park will feature:
- A shelter & natural play structure
- Fire pits & picnic areas
- Benches & signage
- Trash receptacles for conservation efforts
Big Bear Park holds historical significance as an area where Winnebago ancestors once walked. This transformation will provide a gathering space for cultural teachings, outdoor recreation, and connecting with the land.
Since 2017, Ho-Chunk Way employees have raised over $500,000 for the Winnebago community. We are grateful for our employees who continue to make this program a success!
